Introducing The New Google+

meet-the-new-google.jpg

This week Google has introduced a fully redesigned Google+ that puts Communities and Collections front and center. Now focused around interests, the new system is much simpler. This should encourage more and more businesses to start using it.

Optimized for Mobile Experience

It’s more mobile-friendly, with the claim that it has been rebuilt across web, Android and iOS. Ensuring you’ll have a fast and consistent experience whether you are on a big screen or small one. You’ll need to opt-in to this new version of Google+ on the web to see the changes.

How to Access the Update

If you have a Google+ page, then next time you go to it, you will see a pop up box that says “Meet The New Google.” Simply select “Lets Go” and your page is updated. Occasionally, I have seen an error with this process (so you just do it again). However, there is nothing to do on your end, besides selecting “Lets Go.”

This Still Matters

Of course, Google+ is tied to your Google My Business Page. So, it is critical for every business to claim this page, have it up to date and well branded). The search engine places these pages very high in search results (quite often above organic results which has been so heavily pursued thru SEO & Internet Marketing).
